UFC 327: Trump Makes First Appearance Since War

UFC 327, On Saturday night in Miami, President Donald Trump walked into the Kaseya Center. After starting the Iran war on February 28, he showed up in a big sporting event for the first time. Even with a tense political atmosphere, Trump joined UFC CEO Dana White at cageside for UFC 327. The crowd’s response was mixed, a stark contrast to how he’d entered before, winning cheers.

White walked Trump to the Octagon himself. Trump’s team also had Kai Trump, his granddaughter, and Donald Trump Jr., both of whom joined the walkout. As he walked into the arena, Ivanka Trump and Tiffany Trump stood on either side of him, and Kid Rock’s music blasted from the stadium speakers.

But the night felt nothing like it had before. As Trump walked into the event, people booed him, right when reports said US.-Iran talks had fallen apart. From Islamabad, Pakistan, Vice President JD Vance said the talks had stalled, with no deal reached.” The bad news is we have not reached an agreement,” Vance told reporters.

After hours of talks at the Serena Hotel in Islamabad, the US. and Iranian delegations stopped discussing the matter. Negotiations are set to pick up again Sunday, and Vance has already been at the bargaining table for more than 21 hours.

Inside the arena, Trump hurried straight to the announcer’s table. He walked up to podcast and UFC commentator Joe Rogan, pointed at him, and shook his hand. It looked friendly and close, as Rogan grinned broadly while Trump leaned in. This moment stood out since Rogan had earlier criticized Trump’s handling of the Iran war, warning it could ignite “World War III.”

Days earlier, Dana White confirmed on a live stream with Adin Ross that Trump would attend, adding, “It’s good to be back in Miami.” Fans heard early that the biggest name was set to show up on Saturday, too.

Still, Trump’s visit landed at a highly sensitive time. While a fragile Iran ceasefire held, the president’s approval slipped further as the war had already left his support badly damaged. Several prominent MAGA voices, Rogan, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Tucker Carlson, Alex Jones, Candace Owens, and Megyn Kelly included, have publicly criticized Trump for his Iran war choices.

People online reacted right away. One person wrote that Trump used to walk in confidently, wave to everyone, and cheer during UFC events. He walked in with his head drooping, and no one cheered for him. While the rest of the crowd at the packed Kaseya Center still looked excited.

Trump attended UFC events many times during both presidencies. In June 2025, he showed up ringside at UFC 316 in Newark, New Jersey, and walked out with White in much the same way. Before Saturday, his biggest game was the College Football Playoff national title at Hard Rock Stadium on January 19.

Trump’s UFC 327 appearance is set just two months before UFC Freedom 250, slated for June 14 at the White House. So, Saturday’s visit could also act as a political warm-up before that big, well-known event.

UFC 327 brings a light heavyweight title showdown as Jiri Prochazka faces Carlos Ulberg. Live from the Kaseya Center on CBS and Paramount+. As the bouts raged inside the cage, politics played out beyond it: under heavy pressure. The president tried to return to familiar ground while the war kept growing more unpredictable.
