Trump Threatens Iran Power Plants After Airman Rescue

President Trump Threatens Iran on Sunday, hours after US. forces dramatically rescued a downed aviator from behind enemy lines. Furthermore, Trump warned of US. strikes on key Iranian infrastructure if Tehran continues to resist reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

Specifically, Trump declared Tuesday would be “Power Plant Day” and “Bridge Day” in Iran. Moreover, he vowed Iran would be “living in hell” unless it reopened the vital waterway immediately. Meanwhile, Trump had earlier warned he would “hit every one of their electric generating plants very hard and probably simultaneously” if Iran struck a no-deal.

Additionally, Iran’s joint military command threatened to step up retaliatory attacks on oil and civilian infrastructure across the Gulf. Consequently, Iranian drone attacks caused significant damage to power plants and a petrochemical plant in Kuwait, also knocking a water desalination station out of service. Similarly, a drone strike ignited fires at a national oil company storage facility in Bahrain.

Meanwhile, the Iran war has now passed its five-week mark, with 365 US. service members injured and 13 killed, according to Pentagon figures. Furthermore, the war has killed thousands, shaken global markets, blocked key shipping routes, and spiked fuel prices worldwide.

Nevertheless, Iran’s foreign minister left the door open for peace talks in principle. However, Iran showed no concrete signs of backing down as Trump’s Tuesday deadline approached.
