Pakistan Ceasefire Deal: Two-Phase Plan for US-Iran War End

Pakistan Ceasefire Deal formally delivered a bold two-phased ceasefire framework to both Washington and Tehran on Monday. The framework outlines a two-tier approach: an immediate ceasefire, followed by negotiations toward a comprehensive, long-term agreement.

Axios first reported the proposal, citing US, Israeli, and regional sources, describing a potential 45-day ceasefire as the first phase. Furthermore, Pakistan serves as the sole and central communication channel in these critical talks.

Phase Two focuses on entering direct negotiations to draft a comprehensive agreement that addresses the root causes of the conflict and ensures the security of waterways. Additionally, the final agreement is expected to include Iranian commitments not to pursue nuclear weapons, in exchange for sanctions relief and the release of frozen assets.

However, Tehran pushed back sharply. Iran, while still reviewing the proposal, says it will not reopen the Strait of Hormuz as part of a temporary ceasefire. Moreover, a senior Iranian official told Reuters that Tehran views Washington as lacking readiness for a permanent ceasefire.

Meanwhile, significant uncertainty persists on the ground. Two Pakistani sources confirmed that Iran has yet to formally commit to the proposals, despite intensified civilian and military outreach from multiple parties.

Nevertheless, Pakistan pushes forward diplomatically. Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, confirmed that both the US and Iran expressed confidence in Pakistan’s ability to facilitate direct talks.

Consequently, military tensions continue to rise in parallel. Iran launched a new wave of missiles at central Israel early Monday, with at least seven people injured in the latest barrage.

Therefore, the window for peace remains critically narrow, yet Pakistan stands firm at the negotiating table.
